last week went to comex.. for 3 days. kinda feel like a IT geek now. i bought ram, graphics card and a external harddrive on the last day of comex, but the antique ram still cost quite a lot. its a god damn pc2100 512mb for $46 each! T_T oh ya, i bought dvds too, shared cost with chun leong.

the ram and graphics card were for my obsolete 5 year old desktop. AND NOW MY DESKTOP IS OFFICIALLY ALIVE! but it was kind of a bumpy ride even after i got new stuff for my desktop. when i installed everything to the motherboard and booted it up, it was all working fine. then i installed the graphics card driver. restarted my com and realised that the windows were moving like in a wavy motion, the webpage scrolls like that too. of course i wasnt satisfied with this, i wanted good performance and quality from something i paid money for. i reinstalled the drivers, this time i got the LATEST ONE. please, anyone would have expected the latest drivers to have the least problems. HECK NO, AMD ATI LATEST DRIVERS IS A DISASTER FOR AGP CARDS. missing desktop icons, missing text in window titles and alot more problems. I WAS PISSED.

i searched and searched for a suitable driver that could cure the problem and i found a 3rd party driver, its called omega driver. its based on the catalyst version 7.4 which does not have problems with agp cards. i restarted the com and was glad to have solved the god damn problem. more ever 7 hours of fixing this thing is an annoying thing.

my desktop now runs warcraft 3 fine even when its set to the highest settings. but the problem is the loading time. i guess age affects performance =\
my laptop loads 2 times faster than my desktop. LOL. but i think its quite good alr, for a 5 year old desktop. thumbs up! dont die on me! my mum's your next dedicated user! hahaha.
