went for my second driving lesson yesterday, my instructor drove me to that ulu place again.

i drove along the road until the end and then did a u-turn (gosh u-turns are hard to gauge). drove all the way in the other direction, did another u-turn (with total help from my instructor) and then i drove out to the damn road.

i panicked when i saw the traffic light, almost lost orientation of my lower body, yeah... the feet and legs. lost my memory of where the brake was, i just stepped on the thing that felt like the brake and luckily it was the brake.

i'm surprised that my instructor asked me to drive on the road on my second lesson, i've only been driving a car for like 1 hour in my life and i'm supposed to drive on the road and interact with all the other cars?!

anyway i was super nervous, i stalled the car 2 times on the road and i didn't realise it. i thought engine stall is like damn jerky one but then when i stalled the car it felt damn smooth, maybe i'm made to stall cars. HAHAHA! so i drove back from upper thomson back to yio chu kang mrt, stop the car quite a number of times at red lights. so stressed man, i definitely need more practice. "clutch in when the car is about to stop! half-clutch when moving off! biting point, mother fucker!" no, my instructor did not say that to me. i'm saying it to myself.

next lesson is on next wednesday, so far away man! but i'm going prawning this friday, WOOHOO! pwn some prawns man!

okay i was reading my own post about the driving lesson thing. then i saw my new blog name, and i see that it doesn't go with the url. url says drum til you drop, doesn't go with my blog name (even if you understand what it is)

so recently i spill the beans that i'm not so into zingo anymore cause i feel that the passion is gone and some of my drum mates just dont put in effort to bring themselves to the next level. actually i feel that there isnt a next level, it's a basic level. our tempo sucks, if our tempo sucks, our music sucks. you don't hear songs that go slow from the beginning and then the artiste rushes and the song ends with a difference of 100+ bpm from the beginning. it's just not pleasing to the ears.

i'm not saying that i'm the one who put in the most effort or what, the only time i put in effort was when i was composing my score and rehearsing for the concert, and of course teaching the score. it was way back since we knew that we had a tempo issue, a major one. but it doesn't seem to get any better, in fact i think it got worse, there was a time where it was getting somewhere.

what i said during drum practice didn't mean that i'm giving up now, i wanted to give up. now i'm just hanging around hoping to find that lost passion back, this can only come true when i see my drum mates putting in effort to make themselves better musicians, better performers.

tempo is basic in music, passion is basic in a performing group. we lack both. i say we because if only one of us don't make the cut, we all don't. cause we are a group.

My first lesson on...... driving

ok so yesterday i went for my first driving lesson, it was fun! i met the instructor, then he drove me to some ulu place at upper thomson road and he stopped the car there for quite long. Just him and i, in a car, at an ulu place... hmm.... no, he slowly explained the different controls of the car. this is steering wheel, this is horn, use this to signal, wiper, etc. actually i learnt all these when i was preparing for my ftt but it was a year ago since i passed ftt so i had to absorb everything back into my brain. HAHAHA

after all the explaining, i thought i could finally drive but then he took out his instructional booklet and he had to run through it with me to make sure i know all the stuff i need to know before i seat at the driver seat (as if it's some kind of throne) but yeah i think it's absolutely necessary to do that.

okay here comes the fun part, he asked me to switch to the driver's seat and we did it in the rain with an umbrella. so i'm at the driver's seat and he asked me to get a feel of the clutch, i depressed the clutch fully (wow so textbook) and my shoe kinda slipped when my feet was going down so there was this screeching sound. driving with wet shoes suck.

then i had to get a feel of the accelerator, he asked me to step on it and keep it at 2k rpm. i was surprised at how sensitive the accelerator is, i stepped on it and it went to like 4 or 5k rpm, damn it. i only had to step on it damn lightly, imagine petting your hamster with your feet. you gotta be as gentle as possible or you'll squash your hamster to death, something like that.

i got it after a while, and we practiced changing gears from 1 to 5, reverse and back while stationary. ok then it was time to get moving, damn it! half an hour left in the lesson, i drove along that ulu road. it was damn fun! somehow the steering will just naturally get to me when the car is moving. i learnt that moving off and changing gears is different, in terms of the clutch and accelerator. my feet is still not applying constant force on the pedal, i make the car move a little faster momentarily once in a while. ahhhh, another lesson tmr! looking forward!

i know i get a little too excited about this whole driving thing so i think it's better to write it down here. HAHAHA my bebe say all i talk about is driving yesterday, SORRY AH! HAHAHA, LOVE YOU OK!

went to the zoo with bebe, travis and nana today!

met up at woodland and had ajisen, it was quite satisfying cause i havent eaten ajisen in a long time mannnn. seafood ramennn, mmmmmmmmmmm~

then we bought singapore zoo ice mountain at woodlands then we took a bus to the zoo, so funny~ the bus took like 20 minutes to come la, damn it.

went there and saw a lot of animals woooo~ some animals were quite active and some just lazed around. those lazy lions and tigers, i think all big sized animals are lazy. that includes pigs.

i loved the company and the place, really complimented each other and made the trip such a great one.

went to see some ponies and goats and all the farm animals, then we ate kfc in the zoo and nearly had no freaking food to eat cause the kfc was closing when we got there. after that we went to the FISH SPAAAAAAA! woah it was freaking fun mannnnn! but i kinda feel cheated cause the 10 minutes started when we went to put our stuff in the small lockers. if i knew that i wouldnt have washed my feet so thoroughly, just let the fishes eat whatever shit is on my legs MUAHAHA. it felt damn itchy at first but then we got used to it, travis got used to it kinda fast but me and bebe took kinda long, HAHA! when we got used to it and started to relax, the mother pantat worker came in and said that our time is up. DAMN IT MAN! IM SO GONNA GO FOR THE FISH SPA DDATE OK!!!! then we go eat good food in chinatown~~ wooo~~~

today i check my results, they were far from what i aimed for. i got sad and disappointed

baby acted weird with slow replies on msn, i decided to listen to music and then a decided to head to school for fyp. baby called and said she wanted to talk to me while she's out for lunch. talked on the phone with baby til i reached the train station and i saw my baby there waiting for me.

i was totally surprised and filled with happiness, it just came all of a sudden and the sadness and stuff all went away. i cant put into words how much i appreciate that surprise and the effort put into it, it means a lot to me. i love you baby!

anyway, went for a picnic at the botanic garden on sunday. it worked out, i didnt fly kite on ruohan cause we went shopping for shades on saturday after drum which ended early at around 1.

it was freaking fun, we were kinda lost and suddenly we were at the gardens alr! then we saw a hell lot of philipino girlprens, bangala boyprens, pigeons which fly off altogether at the same second, dogs, puppies, angmohs, angmoh kids, tourists, grass, trees, flowers, bonzai, statues, big big trees, holding honey's hand. i like how everything is so nice and beautiful when im with my baby, i thought the beach boy song sounded quite nice. R-A-N-GER! RANGERS RANGERS

and yeah, we took pictures of everything we saw but us. but i really enjoyed myself, ok we really enjoyed ourselves, thats a lot more than enough. what more can i ask for?

dinner with baby today! wanted to eat bakut teh at clarke quay but the shop is closed on every monday, ARGH! so we went to eat at burger king instead, then it was grocery shopping back at yishun and the walk back to baby's house (filled with anxiety)

im really glad and proud of you! you finally did it! time will indeed do the talking for us.

LAST PAPER ENDED ON THURSDAY AT APPROX. 11AM! FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!

it really felt like the exam itself took a day cause i had a totally different feeling about the time after the paper, it was like another me. suddenly all the stress is gone, all the late night mugging, all the mugging and only mugging between meals, all the not being able to see my love, all the not being able to go to drum, all the not being able to have fun, all the not being able to facebook without feeling guilty.

ok so we went to eat at long johns and watch the proposal at cineleisure. the movie was quite alright, the family and being loved part was touching, oh and also the proposal scene! awwwwwwww! i just love being with my baby! went to wheelock to send pengpeng's mum's watch for servicing and then it was dinner at some jap teppan restaurant! was quite nice but the serving was like half of my stomach :( but it was alright cause i ate some of baby's sirloin beef! HAHAHA AND I HAD BLACK ANUS BEEF (tasted good)

met joan and the web designer at starbucks, shared a mocha frappe with baby (which i now realise i didnt pay for my share) and then it was more shopping! oh and we caught a bit of the lion dance action outside taka, kinda cool! the lion actually looked like a lion

went back home after orchard central, the long escalator was under service :(

and then i was too tired to blog, so here i am blogging on freedom day.

and today i got to know that the whole fep internship is called off, actually i was quite disappointed cause i thought it was really good exposure for my baby. but then its good to have it called off early then later where everything it screwed. i guess im a lot better now, the hug was a really sincere one. LOVE YOU BABY! we met up with zm and eleana and we chatted, it was kinda good! i can foresee the prawning trip being a good one. baby decided to come along to drama and im glad it made her day! drama was really fruitful again, learnt quite some stuff especially the feeling and emotion part. ahhhhhh

i guess it teaches us not to take things for granted

felt like a fool standing on the bus doing nothing and goodbye was the only interaction i had

but it was alright cause we have the key to our relationship

district 9 was kinda cool, with the main lead talking like athene (the accent and the way he talks about stuff). i think that it may be inspired by athene. it was a good movie anyway, i like all the cool technology and weaponary that the aliens had. the aliens are called prawns but i think they look more like crayfish.

speaking about prawns, I CANT WAIT TO GO PRAWNING!!!!!!!!!!!! hmmmmm i think prawns and aliens really go together, somehow. right, zm? I WANNA HOOK UP SOME BITCHES AND EAT THEM ALL UP MUAHAHAHAHA! ok i shouldnt be so evil and mean to them or else they wont come to me. i should go 'here, prawny prawny prawny *clap clap clap*'

drama was really fun and interesting! as it always was. zm had some last minute work to do in school so it was only me and my baby~ was kinda anxious about the class cause i dont really know anyone there, didnt know what to expect. but ahhhh drama people are always friendly, i saw roxanne and her sister too! learnt quite some stuff about coming up with skits and stories from benji and now i know why he was so freaking fierce and crazy to us during DOAH. 'the director is always fear' well, really enjoyed that day with baby

oh and i think next week there's gonna be minimal chinese cause benji will try to accomodate zm, hahahahaha!

didnt go for drum practice / pengpeng's performance cause i felt really tired in the morning and i had quite a lot to study. arghhhhhh avionicssssss, my dear friend. let me understand you more.
